Eaton's CTEP-Certified Green Motion Chargers
Eaton unveils its Green Motion electric vehicle (EV) chargers, now certified to meet the rigorous standards of the California Type Evaluation Program (CTEP). Developed by the California Department of Food and Agriculture’s Division of Measurement Standards (DMS), CTEP certification ensures transparent billing practices, fostering trust and reliability in EV charging experiences.
Eaton's Green Motion EV chargers, available in North America are fully compliant with CTEP requirements, ensuring consistent billing and charging performance. By adhering to transparent billing practices, drivers are provided with a uniform and reliable charging experience. The certification process validates the accurate measurement of electricity transferred in each charging session, promoting billing transparency through point-of-sale pricing and digital receipts.
In collaboration with ChargeLab, a leading provider of open EV charger management software in North America, Eaton has achieved CTEP certification. By certifying both companies aim to expedite the scaling of charging infrastructure in pivotal markets like California.
“Trusted and reliable EV charging technologies are vital for EV adoption to take off faster. We have a long history of delivering on safe, dependable electrical solutions,” said Paul Ryan, general manager of Connected Solutions and EV Charging at Eaton. “Now, we’re the only manufacturer with CTEP certification able to bring the entire electrical infrastructure to the table—including the chargers and electrical solutions and services needed for safe, reliable charging.”
“California is a pivotal market for electric vehicles, and it still needs more charging infrastructure. By working with Eaton to certify a technically superior solution, we aim to scale that infrastructure more quickly,” added Zak Lefevre, ChargeLab CEO.
