TS881 comparator IC from ST can operate down to 1.1 V
Are you looking for comparator IC which can work even at a supply voltage (Vcc) down to 1.1 V and consumes only 210 nano Amperes, STMicroelectronics's TS881 is worth trying. It can fitt into your single cell device design where supply voltage is in the range of 1.1 V to 1.6 V. This wide temperature withstanding comparator chip is suitable for use in front-end detection and measurement circuitry, the TS881 is also said to be faster than competing devices.
ST claims TS881 draws less than half the current of competing devices. Also the push-pull output circuitry reduces power consumption to the absolute minimum when driving any capacitive or resistive load.
The TS881 is going to be available in dual and quad variants in 2013.
Other important features of TS881:
Typical propagation delay: 2µs
Temperature range: - 40°C to + 125°C
ESD tolerance: 8kV HBM (Human Body Model)
Rail-to-rail input
The TS881 is in production now and available in the 2 x 1.25 mm SC-70 package, priced from $0.39 for orders over 1,000 pieces. Alternative pricing for higher quantities is available on request.
