Renesas to cut workforce and production plants

It is reported Renesas plans to reduce 12% of its workforce and some of its production plants. This step taken by Renesas to get away from loss path. In 2011 Renesas bear the high impact of Great East Japan earthquake, flooding in Thailand amid the weak global economy.

Renesas has made a proposal to the labor union to implement an early retirement incentive program, and started discussion.
