RISC processor arch pioneer John L. Hennessy to receive IEEE medal of honour

Stanford University President John L. Hennessy, who has pioneered the RISC (Reduced Instruction Set Computer) computer architecture to be presented with the IEEE Medal of Honor at the IEEE Honors Ceremony on Saturday, 30 June 2012 in Boston, Mass., USA. The popular ARM processor cores are RISC architecture based processor cores.

The award ceremony can be viewed live on IEEE.tv beginning at 6:00 p.m. EST.

Sponsored by the IEEE Foundation, the IEEE Medal of Honor is one of 21 IEEE Medals and Recognitions being presented at this year's ceremony.
