Hybrid bus powered by ultracapacitors and diesel engine
Corriere di Bologna has reported launching of electric buses in the Italian city of Bologna made by bus maker Van Hool. The model A330 Hyb uses supercapacitors (also called ultracapacitors) to store the braking energy.
The supercapacitors are increasing playing important role in environment friendly sustainable transport systems. They are also used in electric trains.
Maxwell is the leading supplier of supercapacitors to this market.
