Keynote subject at SEMICON Japan 2011 is 'power of Asia'

SEMICON Japan 2011, event on semiconductor manufacturing and related processing tech is scheduled for December 7-9 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. SEMICON Japan to exhibit technology in areas includes manufacturing equipment, materials, and technologies for: LEDs, OLEDs, MEMS, TSV and 3D Packaging, and printed electronics.

The opening keynotes with the theme "The Power of Asia" marks the start of SEMICON Japan 2011 on Wednesday, December 7 at 10:00am in the International Conference Hall of Makuhari Messe. Top executives will discuss how they develop their businesses for sustainable growth and promote the collaboration between regions, under the theme of "Power of Asia."
Mr. Yasushi Akao, representative director and president, Renesas Electronics, will discuss "Renesas Electronics Semiconductor Business toward Smart Society- Recovery from the Earthquake" featuring his company's effort to establish business continuity based on their experience from the Great East Japan Earthquake.

Japanese-English simultaneous interpretation will be available for these opening keynote speeches.

Japan, the region which is recovered from massive Tsunami has over 120 volume fabs and the largest share of total installed semiconductor fab capacity and some of the fabs are making the flash memory chips at 24nm and 19nm nodes. Japan houses the world's two largest fabs, Flash Alliance's Fab 4 and Fab 5 in Yokkaichi, reportedly designed for installed capacity of up to 220,000 and 240,000 wafers per month (300mm equivalents).
