Crash prevention technology from SoftKinetic

Melexis has introduced a new solution based on Melexis' range-sensing technology, licensed from SoftKinetic. The solution will be demonstrated at the International Motor Show next week in Frankfurt, Germany. The optical based technology, DepthSense, was invented by SoftKinetic, and subsequent advances and developments have been the result of close cooperation between SoftKinetic and Melexis. Melexis integrates DepthSense in solutions, which enable next-generation comfort and safety systems for the automotive industry.

The cost-effective and robust solution detects and avoids collisions with obstacles around the vehicle. SoftKinetic's DepthSense optical ranging technology provides the Melexis' automotive customer with unique sensing capabilities, versatility, integration possibilities and cost competitiveness.
