LSI awards its top suppliers

LSI Corporation has honored 18 of its suppliers. STATS ChipPAC Ltd. was named "Strategic Partner of the Year" and was one of three companies designated "Best-in-Class" in recognition of their excellent value as full system suppliers, and for their design capabilities and aggressive pursuit of cost reductions. STATS ChipPAC Ltd. provides semiconductor packaging design, bump, probe, assembly, test and distribution solutions.

"We are honoring these suppliers for the contributions they've made toward our effort to provide customers with the most innovative and price-competitive products," said Don Alvine, vice president and chief procurement officer, LSI. "This award recognizes them and thanks them for helping us give our customers unbeatable solutions."

Suppliers are evaluated on multiple criteria, including technology, responsiveness, cost, quality and supply assurance. This year LSI is honoring the following suppliers:

2011 Best-In-Class Partner Award and Strategic Partner of the Year: STATS ChipPAC Ltd.

2011 Best-In-Class Partner Award: Flextronics International Ltd.

2011 Best-In-Class Partner Award: DHL Express

LSI also introduced a new award, the Distinguished Technology Partner award, which recognizes the achievements of strategic suppliers who have made significant contributions to the advancement of technology and process efficiencies over the past year. The winners are:
