Market for security clients is forecast by Infonetics to top $7B by 2015

SaaS (security-as-a-service) is likely to eat into enterprise-class security client revenue starting this year if vendors are able to offer SaaS solutions that are centrally manageable and provide security and performance comparable to client-based solutions
Mobile security client revenue jumped 58% worldwide in 2010 from the previous year
Symantec continues to lead the desktop security client market, with over a third of worldwide revenue

"While the desktop security client market was strong in 2010, the mobile security client market is starting to explode due to the maturation of newly acquired products at companies like Juniper, Symantec, and McAfee, and new user demand driven by an increasingly hostile threat environment. 2010 saw a massive increase in mobile OS vulnerabilities, malicious apps on major app stores, Zeus for Blackberry, and a handful of other noteworthy threat events that have businesses and consumers on edge," notes Jeff Wilson, principal analyst for security at Infonetics Research.
