GENIVI push forward with new collaborations and memberships

GENIVI , the automotive software platform for infotainment applications is pushed by WindRiver and Magneti Marelli further by announcing technological collaboration to create the first GENIVI-compliant in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) solution for the automotive industry. This new solution supports a range of control module or "head unit" architectures and is available and customizable for all car manufacturers. The areas of IVI applications includes advanced in-vehicle information, entertainment and connectivity and also for navigation, telematic and multimedia devices inside automobiles.

Magneti Marelli with its expertise in core automotive design is supporting Wind River to develop integrated tested and validated IVI software platform based on the GENIVI open source standard. Wind River also provides customization and consulting services to automotive electronic customers. Magneti Marelli supply automotive components to leading Car brands.

The IVI solution based infotainment systems will first appear as next-generation entry and mid level IVI systems for BMW Group vehicles.

The GENIVI Alliance has also recently announced that Robert Bosch GmbH, Tata Consultancy Services and TomTom have joined the Alliance as Core members.
