TriQuint Semiconductor's 3G chips RF-power iPhone and Galaxy
TriQuint Semiconductor has announced its RF front modules called TRITIUM, which integrate Power Amplifier, RF power detector, transmit filter and duplexer functions are used in recently launched tablet computer Galaxy from Samsung.
TRITIUM supports WCDMA bands 1, 2, 4, 5, & 8. The other module which is also used in Galaxy is QUANTUM Tx Module integrating EDGE power amplifier, low-pass filtering, and a SP8T antenna switch.
Triquint devices are popular among latest smartphones, including Apple's iPhone supporting 3G. Triquint's WCDMA / HSUPA devices were shown in tear down boards of iPhone.
Just like many other compound semiconductor based chip vendors, TriQuint Semiconductor is also a key supplier to defense and aerospace segment. For third time in a row, TriQuint Semiconductor was awarded by Raytheon with Supplier Excellence Award (SEA).
The other vendors who also produce similar devices include RF Micro Devices, Anadigics, Skyworks, and Avago.
