MIPS Joins the MIPI Alliance

MIPS Technologies has joined the MIPI Alliance as an Adopter Member. The goal of the MIPI Alliance is to establish specifications for standard hardware and software interfaces in mobile devices, and encourage adoption of those standards throughout the mobile ecosystem. MIPS Technologies says it is supporting these standards to speed its customers' mobile SoC development.

"Our members share the objective of simplifying design and implementation of hardware and software to promote reuse and compatibility in mobile devices. MIPS Technologies' membership further extends the MIPI Alliance momentum, enabling the mobile industry to introduce more sophisticated devices at an accelerated rate."
