Latest RTOS from Micrium supports Cortex M3 based Gecko MCUs
Micrium, Inc. has added uC/OS-II and uC/OS-III support of Energy Micro's Cortex M3-based EFM32 Gecko microcontrollers. The uC/OS RTOS family of products is used in embedded designs, including industrial, medical, consumer and telecom, and military and aerospace.
According to Jean Labrosse, founder, president and CEO of Micrium, "Safety-critical designs are increasingly taking a front-seat in the embedded market. In spite of the inherent complexity involved in achieving safety-critical status, customers now know that they can take advantage of energy efficiency by easily porting their applications to EFM32 Gecko microcontrollers."
"We see that more and more EFM32 Gecko customers demand safety-critical operation for their battery operated systems, said Øyvind Grotmol, VP of Simplicity, responsible for Energy Micro's software and hardware platform. "In the context of e.g. industrial or portable medical applications, customers need the Gecko device to run a certified RTOS that meets stringent speed and quality requirements like uC/OS-II and III," he added
