Trident'S DTV chipset solutions powers Loewe's HD televisions
Loewe has selected Trident's PNX5120 chipset and DRX-K demodulator to power Loewe's Individual line of HD televisions. The new Individual series of home entertainment systems provide LED backlighting, full-HD 400 Hz motion picture display, individual configuration for various living arrangements, energy efficiency and new menu and multimedia features.
"The Individual series takes advantage of key Trident technology such as our dimming algorithm for low power and best picture performance, sharpness and Wide Color Gamut (WCG) adjustment for spectacular picture quality, and our robust modular DVB-T/DVB-C demodulator solution," said Dirk Wieberneit, senior vice president and general manager of the Trident TV Business unit. "We enjoyed working closely with the Loewe team to adapt our core technology to meet their particular needs and bring to market a very high-end and feature-rich LED backlit television."
The PNX5120 is a video picture improvement IC incorporating Trident's Motion Accurate Picture Processing (MAPP) for driving 120 and 240Hz panels. The PNX5120 can be used to directly control a 2D dimming backlight by running the Trident 2D dimming backlight control algorithm.
