LSI and IP Infusion to jointly develop carrier-grade solutions for mobile backhaul and carrier Ethernet

LSI Corporation has collaborated with IP Infusion to develop an advanced carrier-grade solution for mobile backhaul and carrier Ethernet. This colaboration brings together LSI multicore communications processors with the ZebOS Network Platform software from IP Infusion.

The solution is reported to deliver rich set of features for next-generation mobile broadband applications. The combined offering feature traffic management capabilities and a broad set of fast-path software features alongside a transport platform from IP Infusion. The combined solution is presented in layered software architecture for integration with the OEM application layer, assuring quality and reducing development time, cost and risk.

ZebOS offers a scalable standards-based Layer 2 and Layer 3 carrier-class routing and switching software solution with additional supported features for the Generalized Multiprotocol Label Switching (GMPLS), Data Center Bridging and Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) implementations of carrier Ethernet stacks.
