6WIND's Gate software to power Advantech's Packetarium platforms

6WIND in close colaboration with Advantech have announced a strategic agreement to provide 6WIND Gate packet processing software across Advantech's Packetarium product line. It is aimed at providing an integrated hardware software platform to the manufacturers that can provide over 80 Gbps system throughput in multiple form factors for both standard and customized platforms.

Integrating 6WINDGate packet processing software with Advantech's Packetarium boards will provide a flexible platform level solution that can deliver a 10x performance improvement, thus enabling fast packet handling and forwarding while freeing up overhead for increased processing at the application layer, says Advantech.

Advantech says that the Packetarium platforms from Advantech running 6WINDGate software provide a compelling competitive advantage for general managers, product line managers and system architects who are charged with managing an organization's technology strategy. The scalability of the 6WINDGate software across multiple processor architectures offers manufacturers a path to differentiated product portfolio and service offerings in terms of performance, feature sets, quality, delivery and support.
