Aldec has announced support for the VHDL IEEE 1076-2008 standard. VHDL IEEE 1076-2008 is used by a several Aldec design and verification customers. Aldec says that the implementation of the new version of VHDL standard is a vital part of the Aldec product offerings and the company pledges continual development of IEEE 1076-2008, and the future editions of the standard.
"VHDL-2008 adds important language enhancements for verification and design engineers. As a VHDL user and trainer, it is exciting to have Aldec announce VHDL-2008 support. Thanks to Aldec for bringing the hard work of the IEEE and Accellera working groups to the VHDL user community," said Jim Lewis, VHDL IEEE Chairperson and Founder of SynthWorks."
"It was always a challenge to explain little imperfections and annoyances of the language to the trainees and VHDL tool users. Now it is a pleasure to see virtually all those issues eliminated in the new version of the standard, with some extra improvements and clarifications," commented Jaroslaw Kaczynski, Research Engineer, Aldec, Inc.
