Microsoft stamps approved seal on Samsung's flash Solid State Drives (SSDs)

Microsoft has tested, validated, and certified three of the Samsung's Solid State Drives as qualified windows compatible peripherals. This approval is a market boosting dose for flash memory chip industry. We will have to wait and see whether the laptop makers and users will replace their magnetic disk drive models with SSDs.

The advantages such as, zero noise, low power consumption and speed may over weigh the cost disadvantage of SSDs. May be slower, SSDs might replace traditional disk drives in full scale.
