Docea Power receives VC Funding of $1.5 million

Docea Power has announced that it has secured $1.5M in VC funding. Docea's launch of its Aceplorer product in 2009 is termed successful. The fund were raised from Rhône-Alpes Création, Alps Development Sustainable Investment, Siparex, Octalfa, and private investors. Docea plans to expand its product offering to Asia and the United States.

"Docea brings a comprehensive and unique solution to energy consumption and heat dissipation in chips and electronic systems, a problem that is highly critical in the mobile application industry," says Guy Rigaud, Director of Rhone-Alpes Creation "Benefiting from fast-growing trends in the green technologies and system level design (ESL) fields, the Docea's positioning is highly promising."

Docea have worked in partnership with IMEC, CEA-Leti, Verimag, G2Elab for its R & D. Aceplorer (ACE stands for Abstract Concept of Energy) from Docea is used to model, simulate and explore all aspects of thermal energy and the architecture of complex electronic systems. It is said this product is adopted by well known American and European semiconductor manufacturers to develop ICs for mobile applications.
