Enablence sign $3.5 million agreement to develop PLC based components for NGN apps
Enablence has announced that it has signed a two year $3.5 million agreement with Tier 1 global telecommunications systems to develop advanced Planar Lightwave Circuit (PLC) based components that will enable Next Generation Networks (NGN).
Enablence says, when the development project comes to successful completion, it will also become a long-term supplier of these PLC based products to this global telecom systems vendor.
"We are very pleased with this latest agreement with an important customer, since it recognizes Enablence as technology leader in the industry just as interest in high-speed Next Generation Networks continues to grow rapidly" said Arvind Chhatbar, CEO of Enablence. "Being able to provide leading-edge PLC based products to global systems companies is demonstrated proof of our expertise and strength as a value-added business partner to Tier 1 customers," added Mr.Chhatbar.
PLC is a disruptive technology where optical devices are integrated in a wafer, resulting in reduction manufacturing costs.
