Mitel Networks adds Microsemi's PowerDsine to its DataNet portfolio

Mitel Networks adds the PowerDsine midspan products from Microsemi as power over Ethernet (PoE) solutions for its DataNet product portfolio.

Mitel's DataNet division design supports an integrated solution for data and telecommunications needs. The complete integration and validation of the LAN, WAN infrastructure with the implementation of security technologies, allows Mitel to provide the VoIP implementations.

"By forming this relationship with Microsemi, Mitel now has the option to power our IP Phones and partner WLAN access points and cameras with PowerDsine midspans, the most advanced and manageable power injectors in the market," said Ryan Donovan, Mitel DataNet National Sales Director. "PowerDsine PoE midspans from Microsemi are the optimal solution for customers seeking to deploy VoIP when they have sufficient switch hardware, but lack PoE capability. With PowerDsine midspans our overall system can have smart on-demand power availability, with secure manageability and IPv6 compatibility."

"The new Mitel DataNet agreement leverages all the features available in the PowerDsine product line, allowing Mitel customers to migrate to VoIP while upgrading their underlying infrastructure to include power over Ethernet but without having to replace their existing Ethernet switches," said Sani Ronen, Product Marketing Manager for PowerDsine products at Microsemi
