Cavium's NITROX PX security adapters deployed in Hitachi's blade server systems

Hitachi deploys Cavium Networks' NITROX PX security adapters in its BladeSymphony 320 Server family to deliver better crypto performance. The BladeSymphony 320 is a high-integrated blade server system used in data centers and enterprises for secure Internet applications.

"Cavium Networks NITROX Security Processor is the defacto standard for hardware acceleration of secure socket layer (SSL) processing. By combining the high performance of NITROX with our BladeSymphony server load balancer blade, we can provide unprecedented security performance with extremely low power to our customers," said Akio Yamamoto, Division President, Enterprise Server Division, Hitachi, Ltd.

The NITROX product line includes four families of security processors including NITROX, NITROX Lite, NITROX II and NITROX PX. These families span in performance from 50 Mbps to 10 Gbps of IPsec, SSL WLAN security, and 1K to 40K RSA OPS, and provide a high degree of flexibility, hardware scalability and software compatibility. The NITROX processors come with extensive software support that includes multiple operating systems, drivers, APIs and protocols. The API and protocol support is provided for OpenSSL and Linux v2.6 IPsec stack.
