Network Equipment Technologies selects Wintegra's UFE3 for its multi-service platform
Network Equipment Technologies has selected Wintegra's WinPath and Universal Front End (UFE3) for its next generation multi-service platform. The UFE3 IP core, in combination with Wintegra's WinPath technology, provides a high channel density Pseudo Wire Emulation Edge-to-Edge (PWE3) solution.
The UFE3 IP core supports L2 protocols such as Circuit Emulation, HDLC and ATM. It has better clock recovery support for wireless backhaul and wireline applications. The UFE3 IP core can be customized and synthesized to the FPGA device allowing the maximum flexibility.
The PWE3 allows the transport mechanism of synchronous circuits such as T1/E1/T3/E3 over packet switched networks such as Ethernet or MPLS. Wintegra's UFE3 core and WinPath2 provides a large number of T1/E1 circuits, up to 336 T1s and a high density of 8064 pseudo-wires.
"Network Equipment Technologies has been on the forefront of providing convergent media platforms that merge disparate traffic types onto single transport networks," says Talbot Harty, Chief Development Officer of Network Equipment Technologies. "Wintegra's PWE3 solution was a great fit for our next generation multi-service platform."
"We are excited to be working with NET and that our technology can strengthen and expand their product offerings and capabilities," said Mike Bianco, VP Strategic Accounts at Wintegra. "Wintegra continues to expand its multi-service technology offerings and provide our customers market leading solutions."
