Approved C-coded embedded software from Tata Elxsi for Tensilica's DSP ConnX D2

Tensilica said it has tested and optimized C coded Digital Signal Processing (DSP) library from India based Tata Elxsi for it's DSP chip ConnX D2. Tensilica has also tested existing code - including code optimized with industry standard C intrinsics.

"We feel many designers will be attracted to Tensilica's new ConnX D2 DSP because it is faster and smaller in size, plus the outstanding programming environment and compiler suite means that standard C code compiles efficiently. Even existing code utilizing C and platform specific intrinsics for other leading architectures compiles and runs efficiently with no need for additional modification in the code structure," stated Nitin Pai, vice president of marketing, Tata Elxsi.

"Designers looking for ready-made software solutions to run on the ConnX D2 DSP engine can turn to Tata Elxsi," stated Mahesh Venkatraman, Tensilica's vice president of marketing, vertical segments. "Tata Elxsi is well respected in our industry as providing high quality software and services for a wide range of systems and markets, including many of the new and technically demanding wireless standards."

Tensilica customers can now save some design time by getting both tested semiconductor-device and software from reliable vendors.
