Moser Baer ensures continuous supply of Silicon for its PV cell unit
Moser Baer has strategically tied up with REC group of Norway for non-stop supply of very pure silicon wafers for making photovoltaic solar cells. As the solar cell market is gaining potential, industry foresee shortage of pure silicon wafers. Comparison to Integrated circuits and other fields of semiconductor industry, the quantity and quality of Silicon required for solar cells is far higher. This deal with REC group ensures continuous supply of silicon wafer to Moser Baer.
The cumulative contract value for the period starting from year 2008 to 2016 will account to USD 880 million.
