New semiconductor policy of India to boost the morale of Indian electronic engineers

We the electronics engineers; keep tracing the circuit path overnight for fault detection, watch signals on scopes more than watching TV, burn hands by accidentally touching the soldering iron can hope for a better reward and compensation by reading into latest announcement made by Dept. of Information Technology.
Our semiconductor policy with some attractive incentives for both oversea and local investors has been announced.

The sops will cover not only for semiconductors but also for liquid crystal displays, organic light emitting diodes, plasma display panels, and any other emerging displays, storage devices, solar cells, other advanced micro and nano technology products, assembly and test.

Some of the incentives are Special Economic Zone (SEZ) status, 25% investment subsidy, and tax breaks. State governments may also add further incentives to pull the investors.

All these years, we used to depend on the chips whose lifecycle is in control of some other region's market. Now with a fab in India, they got to make ICs exclusively for us and reach us faster than imported chips. Now, even the offshore semiconductor manufactoring companies might give better support to us, particularly to small and medium enterprises.

Does Mr. Ratan Tata and Mr. Azim Premji thinking of Tata Semiconductors and Wipro Semiconductors respectively?
