International conference on VLSI design & embedded systems on Jan 5 09 at Delhi

The 22nd international conference on Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) design and the 8th international conference on embedded systems will be held at Delhi, India from January 5-9 2009. Keeping in mind the current market context, the conference will focus on 'improving productivity through higher abstraction'. A three-day technical program starting 5th January will feature keynote and plenary talks by industry leaders, technical paper presentations that reflect the state-of-the-art in VLSI design and embedded systems. It will be followed by a two day tutorial, design contest and EDA software contest. Organized in challenging times in terms of tough economic climate and recent terror attack, the organizers are able to steer ahead with minimal impact. And, the high profile international conference, the industry's largest and most prestigious is expected to have over 800 delegates from across the world.

Sponsored by the VLSI Society of India (VSI) and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) among others, the conference is a forum for researchers and designers to present and discuss various aspects of VLSI design, electronic design automation (EDA), enabling technologies, and embedded systems. Eminent personalities of VLSI, EDA and Embedded world like Justin R Rattner (CTO, Intel), Abhi Talwarkar (President and CEO, LSI), Neil Henderson (GM, Mentor Graphics), Thomas W Williams (Fellow, Synopsys), Ajoy K Bose (CEO, Atrenta) and Prof Jacob Abraham (UT Austin) will present the keynotes and special invited talks. Leading Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and IC design companies will display their products at the technical exhibition and industry forum to be held between Jan 5-7. Also, there will be a dedicated one day event, on Jan 7th to provide student community opportunity to learn more about VLSI and interact with the industry. The conference covers the entire gamut of activities under the two arms of the semiconductor industry - VLSI, and embedded systems.
