Green Hills Software solutions supports Intel's Atom processor N270
Green Hills Software has announced the immediate availability of its embedded software development solution for the new Atom processor N270 from Intel. The Green Hills Software solution includes the INTEGRITY(R) real-time operating system, MULTI(R) integrated development environment (IDE), optimizing C/C++ compilers, and DoubleCheck(TM) static analyzer. The applications for this pair of software and silicon are, industrial control, mobile thin clients, HMI (Human Machine Interface) and print imaging.
David Kleidermacher, chief technology officer of Green Hills Software has said, "Modern embedded system designs place ambitious performance-per-watt and time-to-market demands on hardware and software designers. The combination of INTEGRITY and the N270 provides a compelling solution to this challenge."
Intel's Atom processor N270 is based on 45nm Hi-k metal gate silicon technology. Atom processor architecture is power-optimized architecture, which is different from Intel's traditional architectures and its performance is more comparable ARM or such low-power architectures. This single-core processor is validated with the Intel 82945GSE Graphics Memory Controller Hub and Intel I/O Controller Hub 7-M. The chipset features power-efficient graphics with an integrated 32-bit 3D graphics engine based on Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 architecture with SDVO, LVDS, CRT, and TV-Out display ports. It provides I/O interfaces such as PCI Express, PCI, Serial ATA, and Hi-Speed USB 2.0 connectivity. It also includes a single channel for 400/533 MHz DDR2 system memory (SODIMM or memory down), and Intel High Definition Audio interface.
