Freescale buys Intoto, a communication software provider

Freescale Semiconductor has signed a definitive agreement to purchase Intoto, Inc., a provider of software platform products for networking and communications equipment manufacturers.

Freescale has acquired Intoto with intention of gaining skills and tools related multicore communications platforms. Muticore designs are next natural step in processors. Now the companies are making quad core, and hex core processors, but time is not far away where tens and hundreds of cores will be used in single platform, QorIQ platforms are Freescale's new brand of multi core communications processors.

Lynelle McKay, senior vice president and general manager for Freescale's Networking & Multimedia Group said, "Successful multicore development requires a deep understanding of how the architecture, applications and operating systems integrate to achieve system solution and performance goals,"
Intoto is headquartered in US and has two offices in Hyderabad and Chennai of India.
