TDK HVC50: New high-power DC contactor for traction and energy storage systems

TDK announces the launch of the HVC50, a high-voltage DC contactor designed to meet the rigorous demands of modern traction applications, energy storage systems, and megawatt charging systems. This innovative component is set to drive the green transformation towards an all-electric society, significantly reducing the carbon footprint.

The HVC50 is engineered to handle DC voltages up to 1500 V and DC currents up to 1000 A, with the capability to disconnect these high-power levels in less than 30 milliseconds. It can continuously carry up to 750 A, making it ideal for high-power applications. Weighing just 1.7 kg and with dimensions of 97.8 x 140 x 94.2 mm, the HVC50 combines compactness with robust performance, ensuring reliability and safety in industrial and commercial vehicle applications.
