Spin photo detector achieves 20 picoseconds response time for next-gen data transmission

TDK proudly announces the development of the world’s first “Spin Photo Detector,” a groundbreaking photo-spintronic conversion element. This innovative device combines optical, electronic, and magnetic elements to achieve ultra-high-speed responses of 20 picoseconds (20 × 10?¹² s) using light with an 800 nm wavelength, making it more than 10 times faster than conventional semiconductor-based photo detectors.
