Automotive-grade USB Type-C port protector

Due to increasing use of the USB Type-C in cars and other vehicles, there is need to have a reliable, rugged, and safe connector systems. To protect these ports against over voltage and short circuit, Diodes is offering automotive-compliant, AEC-Q100 qualified, and PPAP capable DPO2039DABQ 4-channel protection devices.

Suggested for use in automotive head units, rear seat entertainment units, and in-car charging, these devices feature low insertion loss, with an on-resistance of typically 300mO and equivalent capacitance of 50pF or less.

DPO2039DABQ protect the devices's CC1, CC2, and D+ and D- or SBU signals from ESD bursts, over voltage or short circuit to VBUS on four data lines, and even over-temperature event, where as thermal shutdown is preconfigured with a threshold of +150°C and +20°C hysteresis.

The DPO2039DABQ does not cause any negative impact on bandwidth of the data lines and also saves from using external TVS devices.

The DPO2039DABQ packs MOSFETs, gate drivers, and control logic to isolate the data lines if a fault condition is detected. The typical overvoltage fault detection response time is 100ns.

The DPO2039DABQ is available now, priced at $0.35 in 3000 piece quantities.
