Special model libraries from Goepel for AUDO-series MCUs from Infineon
GOEPEL electronic has made available of special model libraries for the AUDO micro controller series TC17xx from Infineon to support the innovative emulation technology VarioTAP. The libraries, described as VarioTAP models, enable the flexible execution of processor emulation tests utilizing the native debug interface. On this basis, hardware verification and test, as well as Flash memory programming are possible without specific firmware, according GOEPEL.
“Our developments in emulation test are currently focused in particular on automotive applications. Supporting the Infineon TriCore architecture means covering another market-leading processor family”, says Bettina Richter, Marketing Manager with GOEPEL electronic. “At the same, we systematically extend the product portfolio of Embedded System Access strategies for Infineon processors. Hence, users can continuously take advantage in utilizing the same tools to implement their test and programming strategies also when applying different target processor series.”
The AUDO (AUtomotive unifieD processOr) TC17xx micro controller series is based on the high peformance TriCore architecture for automotive applications in the areas of powertrain, body and safety.
VarioTAP enables the reconfiguration of the integrated processor into a native design embedded test and programming controller via the JTAG Debug port. In addition to Boundary Scan (IEEE 1149.x), this test approach, commonly known as Processor Emulation Test (PET) is currently the most modern method in the area of Embedded System Access (ESA) technologies. It enables the functional at-speed test of all peripheral interfaces. The execution of customer-specific software IP is also easily possible.
The processor-specific VarioTAP models are structured modularly as intelligent IP, enabling a complete fusion of Boundary Scan test and JTAG emulation.
