Shock and drop-proof rugged 7 inch Android tablet for field/industrial use
IEIMobile by IEI Technology has released its first Android 2.3.4 OS Gingerbread tablet PC, the ICECARE 7 Mobile Field Assistant. Powered by Texas Instruments OMAP3 AM3715 chip, this industrial purpose rugged tablet PC is designed for field workers to capture and record, track and locate, access and update information in real-time, which can increase field service productivity and efficiency.
The ICECARE is integrated with a selection of wireless communication technologies such as WCDMA/HSDPA, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, and Bluetooth 2.1 to keep mobile workers connected with the back-office. In addition, the built-in GPS antenna provides access to Location-Based Services, tracking, and navigation applications. With regards to data capturing functions, the ICECARE comes with front and rear-facing CMOS cameras, a 13.56MHz RFID reader and a 1D laser/2D imager scan engine, which provides different data collection methods that help to eliminate risks of human error.
To better fulfill the needs of extensive operation time, the ICECARE is designed to manage power efficiently with two hot-swappable battery packs that provide 11.1V 1880mAh capacity. In order to meet the demands of tough outdoor environments, the ICECARE tablet PC has been approved for its semi-ruggedness as listed below:
