New DOCSIS 3.0 Voice-over-IP solutions introduced by Microsemi
Microsemi Corporation has introduced two new subscriber line interface circuits (SLICs) for voice-over-broadband cable applications. The dual-channel Le9540 and single-channel Le9541 provide low-power consumption and include features that permit product developers to include voice capabilities to DOCSIS and Euro-DOCSIS3.0 modems. The new SLICs are available in production quantities now.
"Our new SLICs make VoIP service more affordable to deploy and operate by lowering bill-of-material and power consumption costs through a combination of unique features," said Jacques Issa, vice president of Microsemi's Voice and Power products group. "The communications market, including solutions for VoIP products, is a key focus for Microsemi. We will dedicate the resources required to further strengthen our portfolio and position in this segment."
The Le9540 and Le9541 are built on a high voltage process technology, with over 400 million lines deployed worldwide. These two new SLIC devices are footprint compatible, allowing product developers to design multiple products for various markets based on a single platform.
Other features:
1. Small footprint and low power consumption SLICs
2. Compliant with European Commission's Code of Conduct on Data Center Energy Efficiency
3. Interface with DOCSIS and Euro-DOCSIS 3.0 cable gateway SoC
4. Low bill of material cost
5. Deployed globally
