High current, 3-phase cylindrical capacitors from Vishay for power electronics

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has introduced a new series of 3-phase cylindrical capacitors for power electronics. The new devices feature high current capabilities with nine standard voltage ratings from 400 VAC to 1650 VAC and a wide range of capacitance values and packaging options.

The EMKP 3-phase capacitors are metalized polypropylene film devices with self-healing technology. They are optimized for power factor correction, AC filtering, and harmonic filtering applications in 3-phase mains, traction and industrial drives and converters, wind turbines, and solar inverters.

The EMKP capacitors are available in four heights from 160 mm to 265 mm and five diameters from 64 mm to 136 mm. The devices provide high current ratings up to 3 x 56 A and 3 x 104 A. Depending on the bushing type, they offer impulse currents up to 21.3 kA.

6. Lifetime expectancy of 100,000 hours at + 70 Deg Cel at rated voltage
7. Operating temperature: -40 Deg Cel to +85 Deg Cel
8. Terminal-to-terminal test voltage: 1.5 times the rated AC voltage for 10 seconds
9. Meet IEC 61071-1, IEC 61881, and IEC 60831 standards
