LTE protocol emulator and new version of T1 E1 Analyzer software from GL

GL Communications Inc. has released its latest product MAPS Diameter Protocol Emulator software – Scripted LTE Diameter S6a, S6d, Cx, Dx, Gx, and Rx Interfaces Emulation.

Mr. Karthik Ramalingam, Manager of Product Development, said, “The Diameter protocol is intended to provide a framework for Authentication, Authorization and Accounting (AAA) for applications such as network access, roaming, and IP mobility. AAA protocols are used to determine whether the user is allowed to connect to the network (Authentication) and use a particular service (Authorization). It is also used to track network resources used by end-user for accurate billing (Accounting).

He added, “Diameter protocol has been chosen as the AAA protocol in all next generation fixed and mobile IP- based networks (IMS, LTE). It is designed to support data, services, and applications with extreme flexibility and is expected to replace all legacy protocols such as MAP, LDAP, Radius, and others.

GL’s general-purpose platform for emulation of protocols is Message Automation & Protocol Simulation (MAPS). Recently Diameter protocol for has been added to its wide range of emulation support. GL says the MAPS Diameter gives the users the unlimited ability to edit S6a, S6d, Cx, Dx, Gx, and Rx interface messages to support various procedures such as Location Management, Subscriber Data Handling, Authentication, Fault Recovery, and Notification procedures over S6a interface and AA-Request/Answer, Re-Auth-Request/Answer, Abort-Session-Request/Answer, and Session-Termination-Request/Answer procedure over Rx interface.

The SS7 (ISUP) & ISDN applications are described by GL as below:
Emulator can be configured as MME, HSS, PCRF, AF, CSCF, SGSN, and PDN GW entities to emulate S6a, S6d, Cx, Dx, Gx and Rx interfaces.
User-friendly GUI for generating hundreds of UE Signaling (Load Testing)
Ready scripts for Location Management, Subscriber Data Handling, Authentication, Fault Recovery, and Notification procedures over S6a interface. AA-Request/Answer, Re-Auth-Request/Answer, Abort-Session-Request/Answer, and Session-Termination-Request/Answer procedure over Rx interface
Impairments can be applied to messages to simulate error conditions.
Supports customization of call flows and message templates using Script editor and Message editor
Ready-to-use scripts for quick testing
Supports scripted call generation and automated call reception
Provides protocol trace with full message decoding, and graphical ladder diagrams of call flow with time stamp
Script based & protocol independent software architecture
Provides call statistics and associated captured events and error events during call simulation

GL Communications has also announced release of its enhanced T1 E1 Analyzer Software and now it’s Version 6.18.

Mr. Vijay Kulkarni, CEO of the company said, "Our T1 E1 Analysis suite of products continues to provide the most comprehensive analysis and emulation capability of any product on the market. Any traffic over T1 E1 lines including voice, fax, modem, signaling, mobile, IP, VoIP, ATM, and more is addressed.”

He continued, “Major new hardware introduced are GL's Octal & Quad T1 E1 boards, featuring high density and providing Four (4) or Eight (8) RJ-48 T1 E1 ports and multiples thereof. For example, configurations of 8, 12, 16, 64 T1 E1s in a single rack are possible. Octal boards are compatible with dual, quad, and higher core motherboards and software that simulate dual and quad cores (hyper-threading). Support is provided for all existing T1 E1 applications including comprehensive Voice, Data, Protocol, Analog, Digital Analysis / Emulation, and Echo and Voice Quality testing.”

Our Multi-Call capture and Analysis is used to monitor hundreds of calls, capture the bi-directional data, signaling and traffic, simultaneously from multiple T1 E1 lines, based on the user-defined trigger configurations. Unlike the older version of CCA, once the capture trigger type is selected, users can control and run multiple capture instances on different T1 E1 ports from a single GUI.”

Mr. Kulkarni added, “There are enhancements introduced to existing applications, to name a few: tProbe, MAPS Emulation Software, TRAU PDA and TRAU Analyzer and also to our GSM, ATM, SS7, ISDN, and FrameRelay Protocol Analyzers; WCS ATM IMA Emulator application.”
