BiSy single-line ESD protection diode from Vishay in LLP1006-2L package

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has announced a new bidirectional symmetrical (BiSy) single-line ESD protection diode that offers low capacitance of 14 pF in the LLP1006-2L package.

The new VCUT07B1-HD1 has a footprint of 1.0 x 0.6 mm and a low profile of 0.38 mm. The device is designed to reduce the board space required for ESD protection in portable electronics, including notebook computers and smartphones.

Features:
1. Working voltage: ± 7 V
2. Leakage current: < 0.1 µA
3. Reverse breakdown voltage: 7.3 V minimum at 1 mA
4. Maximum clamping voltage: 15 V at 4 A
5. Provides transient protection for one data line as per IEC 61000-4-2 at ± 30 kV (air and contact discharge)
6. Surge current protection according to IEC 61000-4-5 at 4 A
7. Lead (Pb)-free and complies with RoHS 2011/65/EU
8. Soldering can be checked by standard vision inspection, with no x-ray necessary

The short leads and small size of the LLP1006-2L package enable a diode with low line inductance, allowing fast transients such as ESD strikes to be clamped with minimal over- or undershoots.

Samples are available in Q2 2012 and production quantities in Q4 2012, with lead times of eight to 10 weeks for larger orders.
