The new HT62104 new infrared remote control encoder from Holtek

Holtek has introduced the new IC HT62104, an infrared remote control encoder device, which offers compatibility with many other well-known remote control devices. The device includes a fully integrated oscillator circuit, which removes the need for an external 455kHz resonator and external capacitors while its internal IR driver can directly drive an IR LED without the need for external transistors. Hotlek says Compared with traditional remote control devices, this new device greatly reduces the demands for external components thus reducing overall costs.

The HT62104 provides an operating voltage range of 2V~5V, a carrier frequency of 38kHz, 8 key inputs, 2-bit customer codes, multi-key control functions and an LED output to indicate the transmission status. Before any remote control key is pressed, the device will remain in its standby mode during which the standby current will be less than 1ľA. As it also has the benefits of low power consumption in its normal operating mode the device is excellent for power sensitive applications.

The HT62104 are widely used in various remote control applications such as household appliances and consumer goods such as electric fans, air cleaners, toys, garage doors to name but a few. The device is supplied in both 16-pin NSOP and 16-pin DIP package types.
