UHF band low noise amplifier from Torex for space-sensitive applications
TOREX SEMICONDUCTOR LTD has developed a low noise amplifier 'XC2402' in CMOS process aimed at the 470MHz~880MHz bandwidths of terrestrial digital TV.
The XC2402 combines a high gain of 15dB with a noise figure of 1.3dB in the high gain mode. The device operates at 1.2V and consumes 9.4mW of power in this mode.
If the high gain of the XC2402 is temporarily not required, the XC2402 can be switched to low gain mode. Applying a logic signal at the SW pin permits to select between high gain and low gain modes.
In the low gain mode, the power consumption decreases to 3.5µW, while the loss through its bypass circuit is kept at a minimum at 1.4dB.
The device offers easy input and output matching to 50 ohms and can be used with 4 external components.
The amplifier is delivered in a small size USP-8A01 package measuring 1.5 x 1.5 x 0.6 mm.
