Clock divider and delay management chip from Hittite
Hittite Microwave Corporation has introduced a clock divider and delay management chip 'HMC988LP3E' that provides user selectable divider and phase adjust functions. The integrated circuit offers better phase noise performance as well as rise and fall times.
The chip is suitable to drive ADC's DAC's and sample and hold amplifiers minimizing the affects of aperture jitter. The device is also helpful in backplane clock skew management functions for use in cellular infrastructure, networking, broadband and fiber optic communications as well as test and measurement equipment.
Features:
1. The HMC988LP3E can accept clock signals as high as 4 GHz divided by 1/2/4/8/16 & /32.
2. 2 modes of phase adjustment: coarse and fine delay
3. Coarse adjustment allows for delay settings in increments of 1 half period of the input signal in any number of total increments that is desired.
4. The fine delay adjustment, that works up to 1 GHz output frequencies, offers output phase control with 20 ps resolution in 60 steps.
5. Timing functions such as clock synchronization, clock invert and clock slip options are included.
6. Standard differential LVPECL output and a flexible input optimized for LVPECL, LVDS, CML or CMOS signals.
