Kontron releases powerful industry server with two 8-core Xeon processors

Kontron has introduced the new Kontron Industrial Silent Server KISS 4U EATX. It hosts the extremely high processor performance and energy efficiency of two new 8-core Intel Xeon E5-2600 processors each with up to 2.5 GHz turbo clock frequency, and is housed in a robust, industrial server design.
The new Kontron KISS 4U EATX has high power density and scalability. With a total of 16 processor cores, 36 threads and up to 512 GB of DDR3 ECC RAM the industry server with its long-term availability of up to five years is the suitable solution for applications such as industrial imaging, medical technology, cloud computing, and simulation.

Kontron's Industrial Silent Server KISS 4U EATX with its low noise level of around 35dBA is also suited for applications in noise-sensitive areas like manned control rooms, in professional A/V equipment and in long-term available CAD, QS and video surveillance systems. Besides the standard version with IP20 protection, there is also a variant with IP52, which protects against dust and dripping water. The operating temperature ranges from 0 to 50 °C.

The 32nm Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 family introduces a multitude of enhancements intended to improve processor performance over previous generations, while lowering latency and saving power intelligently. It is the first dual-socket server-class Intel processor to integrate PCI Express 3.0, enabling the I/O hub to be removed to save blade- or board-level real estate.

The KISS 4U EATX is CE certified and UL qualified. It supports Linux and Windows operating systems and is now in stock as a standard system. The Kontron KISS 4U EATX is now available in APAC and EMEA.
