Single channel gate drivers from TI for high density switching applications
Texas Instruments has introduced its first 4-A/8-A and 4-A/4-A single-channel, low-side gate drivers with speed and drive current capability for minimizing switching loss of MOSFETs, IGBT power devices and wide band-gap power semiconductors.
The UCC27511 and UCC27517 drivers are part of TI's new UCC2751x family.
These drivers find their applications in off-line isolated power supplies, telecom modules, air conditioner systems, UPS and portable power tools.
Features of UCC27511 and UCC27517:
Current drive capability: UCC27511 supports drive current capability up to 4-A source/8-A sink, while the UCC27517 supports a 4-A source/sink peak-current pulses.
Switching speed: Both drivers have a typical propagation delay of 13 nanoseconds (ns) and a 9-ns/7-ns rise and fall time.
Switching loss: 0.375 ohm (0.5 ohm for UCC27517) pull-down resistance.
Operating voltage: 4.5-V to 18-V
Operating temperature range: -40Deg C to 140 Deg C
The UCC27511 is available in a 6-pin SOT-23 package with a price of $0.60 each in 1,000-unit quantities. The UCC27517 is available in a 5-pin SOT-23 package with a price of $0.49 each in 1,000-unit quantities.
