Fairchild's 60A driver MOSFET module for dc/dc converter in ultrabooks
Fairchild Semiconductor has developed the 60A FDMF68xx Gen III driver MOSFET multi-chip module (MCM) family. The FDMF68xx series reduces an inductor and output capacitor count in its design to save board space and to improve the efficiency. The FDMF68xx series reduces switch ringing by using Fairchild's high-performance PowerTrench MOSFET technology. This eliminates the need of a snubber circuit in most buck converter applications.
The generation III DrMOS MCM family supports both 3.3V and 5V tri-state pulse width modulation (PWM) input voltages for both digital and analog PWM controllers and a 30V device option makes the DrMOS adaptable for Notebook or UltraBook power systems. This device provides up to 60A per phase in a 6x6mm2 PQFN package.
