Tri-wavelength micro OTDRs introduced by Anritsu

Anritsu has introduced µOTDR modules for its Network Master MT9090A platform.
An Optical-Time-Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) is an optoelectronic instrument used to characterize an optical fiber.

The uOTDR MU909014C/15C provides all the necessary tools for installing and maintaining today's high-speed, high-bandwidth optical networks, including PON-based FTTx networks featuring up to a 1x64 split.

The MT9090A pocket-sized network master module is a complete solution for the PON-based FTTx networks and general-purpose applications.

The Network Master MT9090A µOTDR MU909014C/15C modules provides 3 wavelengths - 1310 nm and 1550 nm for installation, and either 1625 nm or 1650 nm for maintenance. They combine an OTDR, power meter, light source, loss test set, PON power meter, and connector inspection microscope in a single pocket-sized design, allowing field technicians to perform tests quickly, easily, and accurately.

Features of MU909014C/15C

· Dynamic range of up to 38 dB
· Up to 250,000 data points (for accurate mapping of events, and dead zones of <1 meter)
· Compact - 19x9.6x4.8 (cm)
· Lightweight - 700 g
· Ease of use with the Network Master family
· Full auto operation to set up a sequence of tests that require only one key press to initiate
· PASS/FAIL indicators for simplified testing and troubleshooting

The MU909014C/15C modules are available in standalone 1625 nm or 1650 nm models for maintenance-only applications.
