New LCR meter for testing high-frequency passive components from Agilent

Agilent Technologies Inc. has introduced a new LCR meter 'E4982A' for use in testing passive components such as surface mount inductors and EMI filters, where impedance testing at frequencies of 1 MHz to 3 GHz is required. This device's powerful list measurements make it apt for quality assurance and R&D.

The Agilent E4982A provides 0.8% basic impedance measurement accuracy and repeatable measurements with small measurement variation. The meter measures at the speeds of 0.9 ms, 2.1ms or 3.7 ms that translates into fast test throughput while its accuracy improves test quality. This makes the meter suitable for the makers of chip inductor/EMI filters and integrators of SMD inductor/EMI filter test systems that requires accurate and repeatable inductance, quality factor and impedance measurements.

The E4982A is compatible with the current Agilent 4287A LCR meter including the SCPI commands and handler interface functions that allow customers to leverage their earlier investments and expertise in the software.

The E4982A LCR meter features PC connectivity via GPIB, LAN and USB; an easy-to-use, intuitive user interface; a 10.4-inch display; and a compact design with 277-mm depth.

The price of the LCR meter is $31,487 for 1 MHz to 3 GHz frequency and is available now.
