TI introduce software and hardware platform for ZigBee
ZigBee and Bluetooth are getting used in home appliance for the advantage of no line-of-sight requriements. SoC chip vendors are blending the prcessor and RF interface in to a chip targeting exclusivey remote controls and TVs and such home entertainment devices. TI has made available its solution and is also showcasing it CES 2012. TI's solution is based on its CC253x 802.15.4 RF-IC.
The key points of this platforms include:
Keyboard and gesture- and touch-based input controls for consumer electronics such as TVs, set-top boxes and game consoles .
Zigbee protocol stack with sample application software, and with ZID profile-support
ETSI-compliant and FCC-certified nano USB module
Reference design with six-axis motion sensing
Support for Movea SmartMotion firmware
Small size: Only 9.5 mm x 16.6 mm
Coexistence with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth technology and other 2.4 GHz devices
