ONFI-3.0 compliant Universal Flash Controller IP core

Posedge Inc has made available ONFI-3.0 compliant Universal Flash Controller. Posedge's ONFI-3.0 compliant Universal Flash Controller provides a standard NAND Flash device interface conforming to the new standards while maintaining backward compatibility with the earlier versions of the standard, says Posedge.

Key features of ONFI-3.0 include:
Data rates up to 400 MT/s
Up to 40 bits of ECC
Flexible Spare locations and ECC on Spare area
Option for multiple ECC engines for higher throughput for error cases
2K to 16K page sizes
256 byte to 1K Sector size for ECC
Single Ended, Differential Interface support

Posedge Universal Flash Controller supports both SLC and MLC flash memories and can operate with NOR Flash, SRAM and Serial Flash devices.

The design supports several advanced features like supporting multiple ECC engines, multi-channel Flash Support, and Auto-Boot Modes.

Posedge UFC supports up to 128 Gb of Flash Memory and 400 MT/s for adaptation into SSDs and other high performance applications and also supports the NV-DDR-2 mode for delay matching and these high data rates.
