Wipro's Tarang partner with Canada's CSA for certifying products

Wipro Technologies has announced that Wipro's Tarang - Product Qualification and Compliance Lab and CSA Group, a global testing, certification and standards development organization headquartered in Canada, will collaborate and leverage their business resources for providing localized testing and certification services in India. The agreement with CSA Group enables Wipro to provide compliance testing and certification services to companies developing products in India for international markets in diverse fields, such as information technology, medical, test and measurement, laboratory, industrial control equipment, etc.

The Wipro-CSA agreement minimizes the need for Indian customers to ship products elsewhere for compliance testing.

Elaborating on the growing need for testing and certification services in emerging markets such as India, Dr Ishwardutt Parulkar, Director of Engineering at Cisco, says, "Wipro's Tarang lab is providing world class expertise in product testing and certification, locally, and the alliance with CSA Group makes Wipro product testing and certification capabilities even more compelling for technology developers in India. The collaboration with Wipro's Tarang state-of-the-art testing laboratories for CSA Group means reliable access to product markets, especially in emerging nations such as India. "This agreement with Wipro will serve to further enhance CSA Group's business in Asia by establishing a presence in one of the most high-tech testing laboratories available not only in India but internationally," says Ash Sahi, President and CEO, CSA Group. Wipro's Tarang lab has been an NABL (ISO/IEC 17025) (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories) accredited facility for two years now, equipped to perform various safety, mechanical, thermal, acoustic, reliability and electro-magnetic interference/ compatibility related testing and consultancy services. Wipro provides testing and certification services on a broad range of globally accepted product standards, including, IEC/EN, DO160, UL, FCC, CSA, SAE, JASO, ISO, MIL, ASTM and NEBS.
