LED charge pump backlight driver IC featuring independent control of nine LED current sinks
Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI), has made available the ADP8866 LED charge pump backlight driver featuring independent control of nine LED current sinks, programmable LED blinking sequences and low operating current drain.
The key features include:
Programmable fade on/off and blinking sequences allow complex LED effects to be generated automatically, saving processor bandwidth and power.
A built-in charge pump automatically adjusts its gain to efficiently power the LEDs under all conditions.
Requires less than 1 ľA during standby and less than 325 ľA during automated blinking sequences.
Applications targeted include keypad lighting, LCD lighting and analysis lighting applications.
Independent LED control allows different currents for each channel at different times.
Available in LFCSP package reduces board space and simplifies board layout.
